I know I typically do money saving posts on Friday’s, but it must’ve slipped my mind.. I should’ve posted this last month, but buying gift cards for Christmas today reminded me to post this, sorry it’s a late tip, but you still have time, and prepares you for next year.
A few years ago I started buying at least one gift card at every payday, I stuck with stores and restaurants I knew my family would like. Usually in February (give myself a month after the holidays lol), I would start buying them, ranging from $20-$30, and would keep them with the receipt in a safe spot until they’re needed, I don’t only use them as Christmas gifts, but birthday gifts and graduations etc. So now when there’s an occasion I need to buy a gift for, I don’t need to panic because I already have one, and this saves so much money waiting till the last minute to buy all the Christmas gifts. Luckily, my nieces and nephews are older and they love gift cards, so this works in my family
*I suggest picking up a couple Visa type gift cards during the year for the special occasions like a wedding gift or graduation
