My Bloody Valentine

Now that I got your attention, Happy Valentine’s Day, a few know that today is my husband’s 40th birthday…and no I didn’t go kill him on his birthday, lol….I purposely saved these recipes for this day, and a special thank you to his sister for giving up Grandma’s recipe so I can make this for him, but first the bloody part….Bloody Mary’s, one of our favorite drinks!


Bloody Mary’s:
4 oz V8 juice (can use spicy) *regular tomato juice will do*
1.5oz Vodka (I like Skye)
2 splashes tabasco (more or less depends on your taste)
Fill cup with ice, add vodka, then add V8, top with tabasco
*When I make mine, I put dash of pickle juice and green olive juice in it, I must have a pickle spear and some green olives in it. **Now this is the way we prefer ours, some people add Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce but we prefer to omit those ingredients

Fish Taco’s:
1 lb Grouper (any white fish will do, since we don’t have Grouper in Michigan!)
1 cup of panko bread crumbs (I mixed panko with Italian breadcrumbs)
Egg whites (mixed with lime juice) * I used 4 eggs whites and 1 tbsp fresh lime juice*
1/2c olive oil
Cut fish into cubes (chunks, tenders, however you like), coat in egg white mix, then coat in breadcrumbs, cook in heated olive oil until golden brown all sides and cooked through.
Pico De Gallo:
4 ripe roma tomatoes, finely chopped
1 small white or purple onion, finely chopped
1/4 c cilantro leaf, finely chopped
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped
1 tbsp lime juice
*Combine all ingredients, cover and chill for at least 1 hour
Sour cream sauce:
16oz sour cream
2 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp taco seasoning
1/2c mayo
*combine all ingredients, chill for 1 hour before serving*
Toppings:
Shredded cabbage, tomatoes, black olives, pico de gallo, shredded cheddar, sour cream sauce…whatever you like inside of a flour/corn tortilla shell.
